Week 16 takeaways
This week has been a little different, the phase has been a little different. I have dedicated myself to relearning more things about computer science specifically about algorithms, but more on that a little later.
It has been a hard week, talking about the organization (of everything I want to do), decisions, and feelings.
This week half of the academy’s (more less) left the program. This made me think, several things. One of them is that we are the second batch in the covid time, this means, we are full-remote academies, this is quite impressive. First because…
Learning journal — Week 15 takeaways
by Mayra Lucero García Ramírez
This new week started a little intense, after coming back from a brief vacation I had my evaluation interview. I am not sure if it went well at all. But something I can share with you is that I learned a lot about what I have to relearn, learn, and investigate. And a lot of that result in what I learned this week (or relearned).
I will show you some of the notes I did about what I read, practice and learned this week.
I did a recap…
Learning journal — Week 14 takeaways
Happy new year to everyone 😁 ️💜 . May the force be with us and we get the most out of 2021!
Last week was the end of the phase of Open Source, but it was also a week of holidays 🎉, we got “free time” talking about no task was specifically requested. It was our time to manage and to use it wisely 🤓🥸.
The next phase is Personal branding, I will talk about it the next week, wait for it 😁.
As this week was different from the others, this blog…
Learning journal — Week 13 takeaways
I took time to analyze this phase, after the pull requests, the conversations, and the 1:1’s, this was a great phase and as always I will share it in more less the same way.
Thanks for reading!
This week I completed 2 pr is OpenDesk, one I had already mentioned last week and the other one was one that the owner suggested me to work with and it was, in fact, a challenge.
Learning journal — Week 12 takeaways
This is the fourth week of the open-source phase. Like the other weeks, I experimented with some struggles and, a lot of learning.
As I’ve been writing in sections I will continue with this organization. Thanks for reading.
Like I have been mentioning, one of my initial pull request was on hold and might be closed. This week the pull request and the issue were closed because the author of the issue did not respond. …
Learning journal — Week 11 takeaways
This was the third week of the open-source phase. Like last week I had some struggles and learnings and I am going to talk about them in sections.
Like I mentioned last week, one of my initial issues is still on hold and might be close. Nevertheless, I searched and started working on new ones.
I have 3 pull requests opened and are being reviewed.
As I mention last week…
Learning journal — Week 10 takeaways
This was the second week of the open-source phase. I had some struggles and learnings and I am going to talk about them in sections.
One of my issues kept on hold and might be close, because of a situation where maybe the Bootstrap issue was due to misused and not a malfunction. So, I continued searching for a JS issue, I found one in MaterialUI, and I did another one in meilisearch-java the issues went well. …
Learning journal — Week 9 takeaways
New phase, new challenges 💡.
This is the very first week of the Open Source phase. A new kind of challenge.
I have to say that when I received the document of this phase, I was a little overwhelmed 😨 with thinking how, what and when to do everything. Although that first inconvenience, I managed to work on the tasks and I have learned a lot about the open-source world and manage to search for projects 🦾.
First, I researched and learned how Github and the open-source projects have a section of the…
Learning journal — Week 8 takeaways
This was the fourth and last week of the second phase “Build Something from scratch” 🔨 at the Nearsoft Academy. It has been a challenging week.
Through this week, the team and I have been working on the project. We did not focus on a lot of functionalities, for the second demo we had to develop some points that apparently were not that clear on the team, so we got to work to be in time and manner with the project.
In the last sprint, we did a great job and we started…
Learning journal — Week 7 takeaways
This is the third week of the second phase “Build Something from scratch” 🔨 at the Nearsoft Academy. It has been a really interesting and challenging week.
Through this week, the team and I have been working on the project. We have been mostly analyzing how to code functions and requirements, coding them and fixing some things 😅.
The most interesting takeouts of this week, talking about knowledge 📖, is the use of node modules to generate and read QR’s. I dove into several QR modules trying to see the pros and cons…
